Cabo San Lucas Events

Los Cabos is so brimming with activities, festivals, events and recreational pursuits that it will be a challenge to just decide how you're going to choose among amusements from day to day. Below you can see calendars of holidays, fishing tournaments, unique monthly celebrations and special occasions.

Both Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo will also have small-scale events that don't make the calendars, but which you might stumble upon in your wanderings. Also check out our Activities page for a large listing of fun in the Cabo sun.

October Events

Baby Sea Turtle Rescue

Dates Vary
Throughout the surrounding months, endangered baby sea turtles begin to hatch. Months before, conservation groups in Los Cabos protect nesting sites during the critical incubation period. Many sea turtles nest outside of resorts on Sea of Cortez beaches. Resorts participate in the conservation effort by organizing supervised baby turtle release programs, helping the tiny creatures make their first journey safely into the sea.

Dia de la Raza

October 12
This day celebrates Columbus' arrival to the Americas, and the historical origins of the Mexican Mestizo race, which is a blend of Spanish and indigenous peoples.

Todos Santos Fair and Festivals

Dates TBA
Festival of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the patron saint of Todos Santos. A fair and live music in the plaza for most of the week. Dancing to live music in the evenings on the zocalo.

Annual Los Cabos Billfish Tournament

October 16-20
This tournament hosts fishing in various sections for the biggest blue, black and striped marlin, yellowfin tuna, wahoo (ocean baracuda) and dorado. Aside from the fishing, parties and a generous prize purse make this one of the best events of its kind.

Fiesta de Cabo San Lucas

October 18
The festival of St Luke’s Day - the Patron Saint of Cabo San Lucas (which means "Cape of Saint Luke"). Expect lots of dancing in the streets, music and specially arranged local events to mark the day.

Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore Tournament

October 20-23
Anglers compete for tuna, dorado and marlin. Friendly competition and cash prizes.

Bisbee’s Black and Blue Marlin Tournament

October 25-29
A dramatic shotgun start kicks off this fishing tournament featuring big cash prizes. Anglers from all over the world converge on Los Cabos to compete for record marlin.
